What is Included with Admission Ticket
Festival ticket includes entry into SUMAQ Peruvian Food Festival (11 a.m. - 8 p.m.), admission to the Cradle of Aviation Museum (10 a.m. - 5 p.m.), live music, dance & cultural performances, live cooking demonstrations in the museum's theater (limited seating), raffle's (must be 18+ to participate) and kids entertainment.
Ticketing
Tickets may be purchased online* through the Cradle of Aviation's website, $20 for adults and $15 for children (2-12 years old) plus a processing fee*. Adult tickets can be bought at these locations. You may also purchase tickets on the same day of the event: $30 for adults and $15 for children (2-12 years old).
Food Prices
Food vendor's prices range between $2-$18.
Re-Entry
Re-entry to the festival is permitted with a wristband. Wristbands are valid for one day, but you can purchase tickets for a second day at the door festival.
Travel Options
SUMAQ is conveniently located near all public transportation systems. JFK and LGA airports are about 30-45 minutes away. We are a 30-minute train ride from NYC on the LIRR. Bus stops are within walking distance of the festival. For more information visit our directions page.
Parking
FREE parking is available on both days at the museum's parking lot. Additional free parking can be found at Nassau Community College (NCC) next to the museum and across the street at the Mitchel Athletic Complex.
Food Vendors
Will be listed on our website. The majority of vendors will accept cash only. SUMAQ tokens are NO longer used by attendees and can not be refunded. Please inform food vendors of any allergies or dietary restrictions you may have before purchasing or consuming any goods.
ATM
ATM machines are available inside the Cradle of Aviation Museum. Some vendors accept credit/debit cards.
Take Out
You may purchase food for takeout.
Cooking Demonstrations
Cooking demonstrations are included with your festival tickets. They take place in the Dome Theater, inside the museum. Please have cell phones turned off or in silence mode upon entering the theater. Seating is limited to a first-come, first-served basis. View schedule.
Eating Area
Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis in the eating area and should ONLY be used for eating purposes. Camping/folding chairs are permitted and recommended.
Restrooms
Restrooms and wheelchair-accessible restrooms are located inside the museum.
Alcoholic Beverages
Bringing in any alcoholic beverage is strictly PROHIBITED. SUMAQ's security reserves the right to inspect any bags and backpacks brought inside the premises where the event is taking place. If a guest is found to be in possession of these items, he or she will be subject to ejection from the facility.
Pets
Only service animals trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities ACT are permitted.
Items Allowed
Folding chairs, baby strollers, cameras, video cameras, a small hand-held umbrella, and a good appetite!
Items Prohibited
Knives, weapons, firearms, dogs (except service dogs), smoking inside premises, illegal and illicit substances of any kind. If a guest is found to be in possession of these items, he or she will be subject to ejection from the facility.
Weather
Rain or shine the event will take place on August 26 & 27, with no refunds or exchanges. Check the local weather forecast to dress accordingly, sunscreen is recommended. AC is available inside the museum.
Cleanliness
Please help us keep the festival clean by disposing of garbage in the trash bins.
Safety & Security
We make an effort to create a safe and secure environment at the festival. If you need any immediate attention or assistance, please approach a festival staff member or security guard.
Refund Policy
Admission is not refundable. SUMAQ and its producers, managers, and affiliates reserve the right to refuse admission or to eject any person who fails to comply with the rules of the venue, local, state, or federal law or whose conduct is deemed illegal, disorderly, or offensive by management, without refunding of any portion of any ticket’s purchase price. Persons entering the festival are subject to search for contraband. Participant bears all risks of personal injury incidental to the festival, whether occurring before, during, or after the festival. Participant bears all risks, including cancellation of the event and inclement weather. The resale or attempted resale of any ticket by an unauthorized vendor is prohibited and if discovered will result in the ticket being voided without refund.
